The Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce's Token Economy is designed to encourage local shopping while providing customers with discount and reward opportunities!

• Customers may earn a token by spending a minimum amount of money in a participating store (minimum purchase amount determined by individual businesses). 

• Customers may also use tokens earned at other participating stores to receive discounts on purchases (discount also determined by individual stores). 

• Tokens may be used at any participating business/store; you cannot both earn a token and submit a token on the same purchase or transaction. 

• Individual businesses have the right to alter and change how tokens are earned and discounts associated with tokens at their discretion.   

• You can earn tokens by making purchases and then use them to receive discounts for future purchases at any participating business.  Thus creating a "Token Economy" throughout the Islands of Marathon & the Middle Keys.

Example:

I walk into a local store that participates in the program.  To earn 1 token I have to spend a minimum of $50.00.  I do so and receive my token.  I then decide to go over to a local restaurant (also participating business in program) to grab some lunch; I hand in my token and receive a free appetizer with my lunch.
