Rock around our Christmas Tree at Schooner Wharf’s Tree Trimming Party and Toy Drive

Schooner Wharf Bar will share warm season’s greetings and plenty of holiday “spirits” at its annual Tree Trimming Party, toy drive and local holiday shop at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Maritime merry makers will deck the halls and make dreams come true at the waterfront winter wonderland. Everyone who brings an ornament for the Schooner Wharf Christmas tree gets a free holiday cocktail -- eggnog, hot apple jack or Swedish glögg. All ornaments will be entered in a contest, and prizes will be awarded for Most Original, Most Nautical and Most Popular.

Then step into Santa’s southernmost workshop at Schooner Wharf. Share the holiday spirit, as local authors and artists sign and sell original gifts for everyone on your list.

And, for the 18th year in a row, the Schooner Wharf “Breakfast Club” will hold a toy drive on tree trimming day to benefit Toys for Tots and Angels–Just 4 Kids.Make a local kid’s Christmas dreams come true by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to the Tree Trimming Party. All of Santa’s generous helpers will also receive a complimentary holiday cocktail.

Live music from The Last Mango Trio features steel drums. They’ll entertain with holiday tunes, Soca, Reggae and Calypso to complete the festivities.

Not everyone has room for a Christmas tree in Key West, so make our tree yours at Schooner Wharf Bar’s annual Tree Trimming Party, toy drive and southernmost gift shop.

Happy Holidays from the crew of Schooner Wharf Bar & Galley! For more information, call (305) 292-3302 or visit Schoonerwharf.com

Call to Artist: Shady Palm Art Gallery
November 22, 2017 - January 20, 2018
Details:

Join Us for the Arts Council's annual Connections Project. Our Mosaic of the Keys provides 400 free 6 x 6 inch blank canvases for Monroe County artists and community members to create their own unique piece of art. We then collect, assemble and exhibit the 400 canvases as one large mosaic. We will travel to six Keys' locations and celebrate at each venue with an opening reception. While it is traveling through out the keys people may purchase a canvas for $50.00 and in May, when we disassemble the mosaic each canvas is shipped to our eagerly awaiting collectors. The proceeds from the Connections Project benefit Keys artists and arts organizations through arts council grants. Please contact Lori Gaukel at Shady Palm Art Gallery to participate in the Keys Mosaic Connection Project. We are looking for people who would like to create a piece of art on a 6 x 6 canvas that will become part of this large Mosaic that travels through out the keys. It's free to participate, fun and gives back to our Keys Artist.
