  Social Media

Abilities & Skills:

Excellent writing skills, social media experience, oral communication and interpersonal and computer skills are a must.  Experience with graphic design a plus. A B.S./B.A. degree in communications, marketing or related field and at least 1-2 years of progressive work experience or a combination of education and experience are required.

Attendance at committee meetings after regular working hours is required approximately once per month. Florida Drivers license required.

CRANE POINT MUSEUM  LOOKING FOR TROLLEY DRIVERS 
Crane Point Museum and Nature Center, located at mile marker 50 in Marathon, is looking for volunteers.  This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and have some fun at the same time.  Crane Point is an ecological park and museum of natural history, located in the heart of the Florida Keys; a place that will take you back in time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the nature of the Florida Keys.   
We need volunteers to perform a variety of tasks including assisting with special events, fundraising, distributing flyers, landscaping, and specifically driving trolleys as a guide for small groups.  Trolley drivers are scheduled on a part-time, flexible schedule and allow one to work as much or as little as you like.  It’s a learning opportunity for the guide as well as the guests and a fun way to meet people from all over the world.

Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the daily grounds and common areas at the resort. This position also provides minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, cleaning, painting, moving, storage and general day-to-day maintenance needs. ·        Follow standard operation procedure for key control for master keys, locking and unlocking of various locks on property. 

·        Work with other departments to schedule and coordinate inspections and repairs. 

·        Follow the established short and long term goals to enhance the department and the facility. 

·        Use of various chemicals in a safe and effective manner while maintaining OSHA guidelines.

·        Responsible for knowing and committing company policies, SOPs, Financial Audit, QA and Safety Audits, mutual respect, cooperation with fellow associates in all departments, and performance. 

·        Use and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have demonstrated to be a quick learner, trustworthy and reliable. He or she must have excellent understanding of the Housekeeping Department and ability to work under pressure.

- Hotel experienced preferred.

Animal Care & Training Administrative Scheduling Assistant

This position is a purely office-based job that requires keeping tasks on track while supporting the efforts of the department leaders and the day-to-day related activities as a whole.  This is NOT the position for someone hoping to transition to a marine mammal trainer.

Position Responsibilities

·        Scheduling liaison for all departments for needs associated with the Animal Care and Training Department, maintained on a daily basis.  This is an integral part of DRC’s operations.

·        Administrative support to the leadership team of the Animal Care and Training Department as well as the Animal Care and Training Staff.

·        Create and maintain weekly staff and department schedules.   

·        Maintain and regularly monitor online program inventory.  Identify change requirements to department Director.

·        Assist with budget.

·        Prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes.

·        Manage inventory of staff provided clothing and equipment.

·        Order supplies.

·        Special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications

·        This is a very busy department and requires someone with strong interpersonal skills who will be pro-active in following through to ensure that all requests are handled in a timely manner.

·        The ability to handle a high volume of details and challenging scheduling situations at once is imperative.

·        Detail oriented and flexible, with excellent time management skills. This position keeps a large and extremely busy department running smoothly.

·        Must be able to handle changes on the fly.

·        Strong organization and planning skills.

·        Self-directed, able to multi-task and prioritize.

Dolphin Research Center (DRC) currently has a full-time opening for a Habitat Apprentice.  The salary for this position is $21,000/year.  DRC is a not-for-profit education and research facility dedicated to teaching, learning and caring about marine mammals and the environment we share.

Position Responsibilities:

Major duties of this position in our Environmental Services Department may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintenance and repair of animals’ habitats, such as docks, lagoons, fences,  land structures, etc., including underwater construction.
  • Maintain fish stock within freezer.
  • Staff training for fence handling.
  • Perform fish catching, netting, and removal of sea life from lagoons.
  • Perform lagoon fence cleaning.
  • Participate in in-water medical check-ups.
  • Maintenance and repair of netting and dive equipment.
  • Participate on Manatee Rescue Team.
  • Participate in animal necropsy.
  • Maintain records and systems.

Qualifications

DolphinResearch Centercurrently has a full-time opening for a Visual Communications Staff Member.  DRC is a not-for-profit education and research facility dedicated to teaching, learning and caring for marine mammals and the environment we share.  We are home to a colony of Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins and California Sea Lions.

Join our Visual Communications Department if you enjoy working outdoors around the water, interacting with people and watching dolphins at play. Photograph program participants to provide lasting memories of their experiences.  This is a team department and most projects involve working closely with other V-C staff members and with co-workers from other departments.  Note:  all photographs and videos are the sole property of Dolphin Research Center.  Any photos taken with your own camera and your equipment are for your personal use and not to be sold or published.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Taking candid digital still photos of guests and dolphins during public programs.
